New Congress to allow mobile tech on the floor

The newly elected G.O.P. controlled House of Representatives are changing the rules to allow the use of mobile devices. New rules would change rules that previously banned the use of devices like the iPad, iPhone, or BlackBerrys on the floor.

Use of mobile devices on the floor just can’t “impair decorum.” So no Skype phone calls when a House member is on the floor. Maybe we’ll see more congressional use of BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Kik, PingChat, or other multi-platform IMs? If your congress-person has a BB maybe ask for their PIN?

What do you think of the new rules?
