The California Supreme Court recently ruled 5-2 that when arrested a detainee’s cell phone can be searched.
‘this loss of privacy allows police not only to seize anything of importance they find on the arrestee’s body… but also to open and examine what they find,’
So you CA residents with a propensity to get visits from the police hide your data. The odd thing is this ruling is opposite from an Ohio Supreme Court ruling. Interesting stuff and I wonder what other states will fall into. What do you think of this ruling.
