Google Translate for Android – queue universal translator

You’ve got to love the stuff that comes out of Google’s labs. Yesterday we posted about the updates to Goggles and now the Mountain View company brings us a taste of updates to Google Translate for Android (via: Google Mobile Blog). I’m sure your somewhat familiar with Google Translate in which it will translate a word or phrase into another language. What they have in an alpha stage is Conversation Mode.

Basically in Conversation Mode you can have a conversation with someone in another language and Google Translate will show it in your native language.

Really cool stuff Google! Keep those neat apps coming! I don’t know what future plans Google have for Translate but perhaps they can use this in conjunction with Quest Visual’s Word Lens augmented reality app currently only for iOS.  If you don’t remember World Lens check out the video below.
